If You’re Innocent, the Process Will Clear You – Nana Yaa Jantuah to Adom-Otchere Defenders

Presidential Staffer Nana Yaa Jantuah has urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and other sympathizers of Paul Adom-Otchere to refrain from politicizing the ongoing investigation by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) into alleged procurement breaches at the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL).

Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem morning show, Nana Yaa Jantuah criticized what she described as the NPP’s habitual framing of legal probes as political witch-hunts, especially when their affiliates come under scrutiny.

“I don’t know why whenever someone is being interrogated, the NPP tries to tag it as a witch-hunt. I’ve been through that process before. If you are innocent, the process will vindicate you,” she said.

Her comments come in response to political reactions surrounding the recent detention and subsequent release of Paul Adom-Otchere, the former Board Chairman of GACL, who is being investigated over his alleged role in a revenue assurance contract awarded without full board approval.

Nana Yaa Jantuah raised questions about Adom-Otchere’s involvement in procurement matters, which, according to her, typically fall outside the remit of board chairpersons.

“Normally, board chairmen are not involved in procurement. So how did his name appear on the contract? Let’s interrogate the matter and take politics out of it,” she emphasized.

She further reiterated the importance of allowing due process to take its course without interference or political bias.

“Let’s allow the system to work. If you’re innocent, the process will clear you,” she stressed.

Paul Adom-Otchere was released from OSP custody on 2 August 2025 after fulfilling bail conditions. He is one of three individuals facing investigation for their roles in the alleged sole-sourcing of a revenue assurance contract during his tenure at the GACL.

The OSP continues its probe into possible procurement irregularities, as calls for accountability and transparency in public contracting grow louder.
