Former Board Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), Paul Adom-Otchere, has been released from the custody of the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) but has reportedly been recalled to complete outstanding administrative procedures.
Adom-Otchere was released on Friday, August 1, in the company of former Attorney General Godfred Yeboah Dame and his legal team. His release follows the OSP’s approval of revised bail conditions, which were negotiated between the parties after the initial terms could not be fulfilled.
According to an official statement from the OSP, the updated bail conditions—now secured by the Jospong Group of Companies as surety—satisfy the core objectives of the original requirements.
“The revised terms, which meet the objectives of the original bail conditions, have been secured by the Jospong Group of Companies,” the OSP confirmed.
Adom-Otchere was earlier charged in connection with a controversial revenue assurance contract allegedly awarded to a private firm without full board approval while he served as GACL board chair. His initial detention stemmed from an inability to meet bail due to a lack of declared landed property in Ghana.
The OSP says the investigation remains ongoing.
