The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has formally invited Paul Adom-Otchere, the former Board Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), for questioning as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged corruption and financial irregularities.
The probe focuses on a revenue assurance audit contract involving GACL and a private firm. The OSP is investigating potential misconduct in the financial structuring and execution of the agreement, particularly how airport revenues were handled under the contract.
In a letter dated July 25, 2025, the OSP officially designated Adom-Otchere as a suspect in connection with alleged corruption-related offenses surrounding the deal. He was initially instructed to report to the OSP’s South Ridge office on Thursday, July 31, 2025.
Mr. Adom-Otchere, a well-known media personality and political commentator, confirmed to Myjoyonline.com that he had received the invitation. However, he disclosed that his legal team has written to the OSP requesting a new date—Monday, August 4—due to ongoing court proceedings in Kumasi.
While expressing readiness to cooperate with the investigation, Adom-Otchere questioned the rationale behind his invitation, noting that decisions concerning the contract were largely made by GACL management and the Managing Director, who remain in office and could provide detailed insights into the matter.
The case adds to growing public scrutiny over transparency and accountability in state-owned enterprises, particularly as the OSP intensifies its focus on high-profile procurement and contract-related investigations.
