Agradaa Opens Plea Bargain Talks in Nude Image Case; Co-Accused Opts Out

Patricia Asiedu Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has entered into plea bargain negotiations with the Office of the Attorney General in her ongoing trial for the alleged unlawful publication of intimate images.

The discussions, which remain confidential, were disclosed during proceedings at the High Court in Accra, presided over by Justice Mary Ekue Yanzuh, who expressed hope that the negotiations would conclude before the next court date, set for October 21, 2025.

Agradaa is standing trial alongside two others, Charles Omane, alias One Gig, and Enoch Owusu Kissi. However, Kissi has opted out of the plea bargain talks and instead filed a notice of appeal challenging a previous court ruling that ordered him to open his defence.

The case marks another chapter in Agradaa’s legal battles. She is already serving a 15-year prison sentence for a separate conviction involving charlatanic advertising and defrauding by false pretence.

Earlier this month, the court dismissed a submission of no case filed by Agradaa’s lawyers, ruling that she and her co-accused must open their defence. However, at the last hearing on July 7, Agradaa failed to appear in court, prompting Justice Yanzuh to direct prison officials to ensure her attendance at all future sessions. She is currently in lawful custody at Nsawam Prison.

The current charges stem from a live broadcast on Thunder TV, a station previously owned by Agradaa, during which nude images of Prophet Emmanuel Appiah Fomum were allegedly shown. Prosecutors say Agradaa later shared the images via WhatsApp. Her co-accused are said to have participated in the broadcast and made disparaging remarks about the images.

All three face charges of abetment and conspiracy under Ghana’s Cybersecurity Act, 2020 (Act 1038). The case, initially dismissed at the Circuit Court level, was later refiled at the High Court and continues to unfold amid high public interest.
