NEIP Launches Nationwide Monitoring of Innovation Hubs and Adwumawura Programme Training Partners

The National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), under the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment, has embarked on a nationwide monitoring exercise to evaluate innovation and entrepreneurship hubs supported under the Ghana Economic Transformation Project (GETP), as well as hubs seeking to become training partners for the upcoming Adwumawura Programme.

The monitoring team is being led by the Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, Hon. George Opare Addo, Esq., and the Chief Executive Officer of NEIP, Mr. Eric Adjei. This exercise follows a stakeholder workshop held last Friday, which brought together key representatives from the Ministry of Finance, NEIP, and the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment (MYDE) to finalize a standardized monitoring framework and questionnaire.

On the first day of the monitoring exercise, the team visited several innovation hubs in the Greater Accra Region, including Food Agro Hub in Accra Newtown, Ennovate Hub, Innohub, and iSpace. These visits focused on evaluating hub operations, startup engagement, and the utilization of grant support. The effectiveness of NEIP’s digital Monitoring and Evaluation system was also reviewed.

The monitoring exercise is scheduled to continue through August 2, 2025, and is expected to generate critical data that will inform policy direction, enhance the capacity of the hubs, and determine their readiness to serve as training partners under the Adwumawura Programme.

This initiative underscores NEIP’s commitment to strengthening Ghana’s entrepreneurship ecosystem and ensuring that support to innovation hubs translates into sustainable economic opportunities for young entrepreneurs across the country.
