Azumah Resources Ghana Limited has issued a firm disclaimer, stating that policy analyst and social innovator Bright Simons does not represent the company in any way and that his recent public remarks do not reflect its official position.
In a statement released by the company’s Board of Directors on Sunday, July 13, Azumah Resources addressed ongoing speculation in the media regarding its legal and business dispute with Engineers & Planners (E&P).
The company stressed that Mr. Simons’ views are entirely his own and have no bearing on the company’s official stance.
“Mr. Bright Simons does not represent, act for, or speak on behalf of the Shareholders or Directors of Azumah Resources Ghana in any capacity,” the statement noted.
Azumah Resources confirmed it is engaged in confidential negotiations with E&P in an effort to resolve the dispute constructively. These discussions are reportedly being held under the guidance of appropriate regulatory and ministerial authorities.
“We are fully committed to resolving the matter in a professional, transparent, and responsible manner,” the company stated.
The company also urged media outlets, analysts, and commentators to avoid speculation that could disrupt ongoing talks. It advised the public to rely solely on verified company representatives for accurate updates.
Additionally, the firm addressed mentions of the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) in relation to the dispute, clarifying that while the Bank had shown preliminary interest in the transaction, any further claims were inaccurate and unauthorized.
