Finance Minister to Present 2025 Mid-Year Budget on July 24 – Parliament Informed

The Minister for Finance, Hon. Cassiel Ato Forson, is set to deliver the 2025 Mid-Year Budget Review to Parliament on Thursday, July 24, 2025.

This was announced by the Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. George Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, during the presentation of the Business Statement for the eighth week ending Saturday, July 19, 2025.

The Mid-Year Budget Review is expected to assess the fiscal performance of the government for the first half of 2025 and provide updates on macroeconomic indicators, revenue and expenditure targets, and possible revisions in key policy initiatives.

While outlining the House’s schedule, Hon. Ricketts-Hagan noted that the Business Committee is mindful of the increasing workload at the Committee level, revealing that sixty-one (61) referrals have been made to sixteen (16) Committees for consideration and report.

He further disclosed that two sector ministers are scheduled to appear before the House next week. On Tuesday, July 15, the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim, is expected to brief Parliament on the recent demolition of properties at the Sakumono Ramar Site.

Additionally, the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor, will address the House on Thursday, July 17, concerning the recent 2.5% increase in electricity tariffs implemented by the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC).

The upcoming briefings and the anticipated Mid-Year Budget presentation are expected to spark intense parliamentary debates as members review government performance and policy direction in the second half of the year.
