The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced the commencement of a nationwide revenue mobilisation campaign dubbed “Operation All Must Pay”, aimed at recovering unpaid bills from customers across all sectors.
The initiative, which runs from Monday, July 14 to Friday, July 25, 2025, will target residential, commercial, industrial, and government customers, according to a statement issued by the company.
Speaking on the campaign, Dr. Charles Nii Ayiku Ayiku, General Manager of External Communications at ECG, said that special enforcement teams will be deployed across the country to ensure compliance, detect illegal connections, and disconnect defaulting accounts.
“This campaign is focused on all customers, including residential, commercial, industrial, and government sectors,” Dr. Ayiku stated. “Special teams will be deployed to ensure compliance, and we will closely monitor for any illegal connections or attempts to reconnect power.”
Why It Matters
The ECG has cited mounting customer arrears as a key contributor to its financial difficulties, affecting operations and service delivery. The utility provider is therefore urging customers in default to settle their debts immediately to avoid disconnection and additional penalties.
Safe Payment Options and Public Caution
Dr. Ayiku also advised customers to use only approved payment channels, especially the ECG Mobile App, available on the Google Play Store, to avoid fraud and ensure secure transactions.
“We caution customers to avoid fraudulent payment schemes. Use only the ECG App and other official channels,” he warned.
Additional Measures
In addition to revenue collection, ECG field teams will inspect meter integrity, crack down on power theft, and engage with customers to address complaints and operational concerns.
The company emphasized that the “All Must Pay” campaign is a necessary move to stabilize ECG’s financial position and enhance the reliability of power supply across the nation.
Customers are encouraged to visit www.ecg.com.gh or ECG’s official social media pages for updates and further information.
