Police investigations have cleared Mr. Asare Bediako Seth, former Bono Regional Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), of allegations that he was unlawfully using a party vehicle, after documents submitted by the complainants were found to be forged.
Mr. Bediako, now the Ahafo Regional Director for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), was invited by the Ghana Police Service two weeks ago following a complaint by Mr. Gabriel Korang Ababio, current Bono Regional Communications Director of the NPP, and Mr. Kwame Baffoe, known as Abronye, on behalf of the party.
The complaint alleged that Mr. Bediako was in possession of a Hyundai Galloper 2 vehicle, registered GS-4259-20, which they claimed belonged to the NPP.
Both sides submitted documents to support their claims. Mr. Bediako’s documents, which showed he acquired the vehicle from the owner of YBA Transport Enterprise in 2020, were verified as genuine by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) and the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority.
However, the documents presented by the complainants were found to be forged following police investigations.
The Police have therefore ordered that the vehicle be released to Mr. Bediako today, July 3, 2025
Mr. Bright Aprakyi, lead of Mr. Bediako’s legal team, said they would review the outcome and consider further legal steps if necessary.
