Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC and the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has issued a stern warning to Supreme Court Judge Justice Samuel Kwame Adibu-Asiedu, accusing him of being swayed by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in matters concerning the suspended Chief Justice, Gertrude Araba Torkornoo.
Speaking on his media platform, Ohiani TV, on June 28, 2025, Abronye alleged that Justice Adibu-Asiedu, who serves on the five-member committee investigating the petitions against the Chief Justice, has compromised his independence under pressure from the current administration.
He cautioned that the NPP would hold the judge accountable in the future, regardless of how long it takes.
“Even if it takes 100 years, we will not forget. When the NPP returns to power and he is still in office, we will dismiss him in disgrace,” Abronye asserted. “He caved to pressure in making that ruling, and under an NPP government, there will be consequences.”
Abronye further claimed that the inclusion of Justice Adibu-Asiedu—an appointee of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo—was a calculated move to create the illusion of neutrality on the committee.
“Their goal is to later justify the Chief Justice’s removal by pointing to the involvement of a judge appointed by Nana Addo. People like Felix Ofosu Kwakye will argue the process was fair because of Adibu-Asiedu’s presence,” he alleged.
Meanwhile, Justice Gertrude Torkornoo has accused the government of denying her a fair hearing in the proceedings. She has rejected all allegations brought against her through the three petitions submitted to the president, describing the investigative process as unjust and flawed.
