Chief of Staff at the Presidency, Julius Debrah, has called on local entrepreneurs to fully tap into the trade and investment opportunities created through Ghana’s growing partnership with China.
Delivering his closing remarks at the 2025 Ghana-China Business Summit in Accra on Friday, June 27, Mr. Debrah emphasized the importance of building on the connections and progress made during the event, which spanned five days and featured Chinese investors and Ghanaian businesses.
The summit focused on strengthening economic collaboration through trade facilitation, investment networking, and cultural exchange. Mr. Debrah lauded the commitment shown by the Ghanaian business community, stating that their active involvement demonstrates a strong ambition to grow and compete on the global stage.
“For business leaders to pause their activities and participate shows that Ghanaian entrepreneurs are ready to seize global opportunities,” he noted.
He urged participants not to let the summit’s momentum fade, stressing the importance of nurturing partnerships and converting discussions into tangible outcomes.
“This shouldn’t end as just another dialogue. Let’s ensure that by next year, we have measurable results that show this summit made a real impact,” he added.
Mr. Debrah reaffirmed President John Dramani Mahama’s dedication to supporting local businesses and facilitating international partnerships that drive growth. He also disclosed that plans are already in motion for an even larger and more influential summit next year.
Addressing Chinese investors, he assured them of Ghana’s business-friendly environment, highlighting that the government has introduced favorable policies to encourage and sustain foreign investment.
The summit featured exhibitions, business matchmaking sessions, product displays, and cultural exchange activities, all aimed at fostering enduring economic ties and mutual benefit between Ghana and China.
