Former Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Yaw Adomako Baafi, has reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, a leading contender for the party’s flagbearership.
In an interview on Movement TV, Baafi dismissed claims suggesting he has shifted his support to Dr Bryan Acheampong, stating emphatically, “I’m with Bawumia today, tomorrow, and forever.”
He went on to say, “I’d only consider leaving Bawumia’s camp if I were using hard drugs—maybe then I’d turn to ‘red’,” referencing drug use as the only circumstance under which he might abandon Bawumia.
Baafi emphasized his commitment to honesty over material gain, saying, “I was raised to value honesty above money.”
Clarifying his presence at a lecture recently delivered by Bryan Acheampong at the University of Media, Arts and Communication (UniMAC), Baafi explained that he attended merely as a student pursuing his third master’s degree and was there to learn.
“Bryan came to speak on AI, and many people, including NDC members, were present. I only attended to listen,” he clarified.
Despite acknowledging a cordial relationship with Bryan Acheampong, Baafi maintained that Dr Bawumia remains the rightful and divinely chosen leader to steer the NPP forward.
“I love the NPP dearly, but the next leader is Dr Bawumia,” he firmly stated.
