The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has arrested three former senior officials of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), including the immediate past Commissioner-General, Rev. Dr. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah, as part of ongoing investigations into the Strategic Mobilisation Limited (SML) contract scandal.
Also in custody are former GRA officials Dr. Isaac Crentsil and Christian Tetteh Sottie.
According to the OSP, the arrests are tied to a probe into alleged corruption and related offences surrounding contracts awarded to SML for revenue assurance services. The investigation is also examining the validity of SML’s claims that its operations have helped Ghana save substantial amounts of money.
The arrests follow increasing public concern and scrutiny over the SML agreement, which has sparked allegations of financial irregularities and mismanagement.
