President John Dramani Mahama has appointed 15 individuals to serve as ambassadors, high commissioners, and consuls-general to various countries, following consultations with the Council of State.
A statement from the Office of the President dated June 10, 2025, and signed by the Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama, announced the nominations along with the respective countries to which the individuals have been assigned.
Notable among the appointees are Benjamin A. Quashie for South Africa, Kojo Bonsu for China, and Kutsourne Shanae Bafooe for Spain. Other nominees include Hammed Rashid Tunde Ali for the UAE, Hon. Captain George Kofi Nfodjo for Togo, Grace El Mahmoud Marabe for Dubai, and Prof. Ohene Adjei for Germany.
Additionally, Abdul Nasiru-Deen has been nominated for Turkey, Joseph Ackah-Mensah for the Czech Republic, Prof. Kwesi Obiri-Danso for India, and Dr. Dora Francisca Edu-Buandoh for Canada.
The list is completed by Dr. Margaret Nkrumah Chibere (Denmark), Labik Joseph Yaari (Equatorial Guinea), Nii Amasah Namoale (Brazil), and Dr. Felix Kumah Godwin Anebo (Senegal).
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been directed to initiate the necessary procedures to formalize the appointments.
