In the wake of the public controversy involving NDC Communications Officer Sammy Gyamfi and self-styled evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Agradaa, the Presidency has decided not to pursue any further disciplinary action. This follows an official apology and internal caution issued to Sammy Gyamfi.
Speaking on the matter, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, a leading member of the National Democratic Congress and former Deputy Information Minister, revealed that the Presidency considers the issue resolved.
“The Presidency does not believe further action is necessary beyond the apology and caution given to Sammy Gyamfi,” Kwakye Ofosu stated during a media interaction on Monday.
The incident, which stirred intense debate on social media and among political commentators, stemmed from comments made by Gyamfi in relation to the controversial activities of Agradaa. While details of the remarks were not fully disclosed, they were deemed sensitive enough to warrant an internal review.
Following the backlash, Gyamfi reportedly issued a formal apology and was cautioned by party leadership. The swift response appears to have satisfied the Presidency, which now seeks to move past the matter.
Observers have noted that the handling of the saga underscores the party’s commitment to accountability while balancing internal cohesion.
As of now, both parties involved in the controversy have refrained from further public commentary, signaling a desire to bring closure to the incident.
