Lawyer Maurice Ampaw is questioning the financial integrity of Ghana Gold Board’s acting CEO, Sammy Gyamfi, following a video showing him gifting crisp dollar bills to evangelist Patricia Oduro Koranteng, also known as Agradaa.
“He doesn’t spend cedis,” Ampaw said on Wontumi Radio. “Is our gold money safe under him? No. This is about probity.”
He insisted that someone in charge of Ghana’s gold reserves must demonstrate transparency and accountability — not flaunt unexplained wealth.
According to Ampaw, Gyamfi’s dollar-spending spree suggests a deeper issue of financial recklessness.
“He needs money to fund his opulent lifestyle,” he stressed, warning that unless checked, Ghana’s mineral wealth may be misused under such leadership.
