On Monday, 12th May 2025, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA), Dr. Mary Awusi, welcomed a high-level delegation from Dufry & GTDC Ltd., a joint venture between the global travel retail giant Dufry and the Ghana Tourism Development Company (GTDC).
The visiting team, led by the General Manager, Ms. Ines Gaaliche, included key members from the company’s Administration and Finance departments. The courtesy call served as an official introduction of the company’s leadership to Dr. Awusi, while also providing an opportunity to discuss the company’s ongoing operations and future plans under the Free Zones Scheme.
Dufry & GTDC Ltd. operates as a duty-free enterprise, leveraging the strategic incentives of the Free Zones program to contribute to Ghana’s growing tourism and retail sectors. In her remarks, Ms. Gaaliche praised GFZA’s consistent support and highlighted the company’s ambitions to further enhance its footprint in Ghana, contributing meaningfully to national economic growth.
Dr. Awusi, in turn, lauded the company for its fruitful partnership with the Ghana Tourism Development Company and reaffirmed GFZA’s commitment to enabling an investor-friendly ecosystem. She emphasized the Authority’s role in promoting strategic public-private collaborations that drive sustainable development and align with Ghana’s broader economic transformation agenda.
