Ghanaian Afrobeats Sensation OliveTheBoy Clinches Best Afrobeats Song at 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards

OliveTheBoy has won Best Afrobeats Song of the Year at the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) for his hit track Asylum. The award, presented on May 10, 2025, highlights his growing influence in both Ghana and the global Afrobeats scene. Asylum was praised for its captivating lyrics and unique rhythm, earning recognition in a competitive category.

The win follows a remarkable year for OliveTheBoy, who had previously made waves with his breakout single Goodsin, which won the Afrobeats/Afropop Song of the Year at the 2024 B&O 3Music Awards. Asylum continued his momentum, solidifying his place as one of the rising stars in Ghana’s music industry.

At the TGMA Awards, Asylum also claimed the Telecel Most Popular Song of the Year, further cementing its impact. OliveTheBoy’s victory was part of a night that saw other prominent artists, including King Promise, Mr Drew, and Lasmid, take home major awards.
