Wenchi MCE Leads Successful Clean-Up Campaign in Collaborative Effort

Earlier today, the Wenchi Municipality witnessed a remarkable display of community spirit and civic responsibility as a massive clean-up exercise was carried out through the joint efforts of the Wenchi Municipal Assembly, the Wenchi Traditional Council, and the Office of the Member of Parliament.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Wenchi, Hon. Gloria Opoku Gyamfi, who led the initiative, expressed profound gratitude to all participants, including volunteers, security personnel, and traditional authorities. She gave special thanks to Nana Wenchiman Hene for his substantial support, which significantly contributed to the success of the exercise.

“The turnout and commitment shown today are a clear reflection of what we can achieve when we come together with a common purpose,” Madam Opoku Gyamfi said. “Sanitation remains a pressing issue in Wenchi, and I am fully committed to making our municipality a model of cleanliness not only in the Bono Region but across Ghana.”

She emphasized that the clean-up was not just a one-off activity, but part of a broader agenda to promote hygiene, environmental health, and community engagement. The MCE also applauded the security services for maintaining order throughout the exercise and ensuring the safety of all involved.

Residents, institutions, and youth groups actively participated by clearing choked gutters, collecting refuse, and cleaning public spaces. The initiative aligns with ongoing efforts to instill a culture of environmental responsibility within the municipality.

Hon. Opoku Gyamfi concluded her remarks with a rallying call for continued support from citizens and stakeholders, reaffirming her administration’s resolve to build a cleaner, healthier Wenchi for all.
