The 26th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) saw a thrilling celebration of talent, and one of the night’s biggest highlights was “Lomo Lomo” by KiDi and Black Sherif clinching the award for Best Collaboration of the Year.
The dynamic partnership between KiDi’s silky Afrobeats flair and Black Sherif’s raw, emotive delivery proved to be a musical masterstroke. “Lomo Lomo” quickly became a fan favorite following its release in July 2024, dominating charts and receiving massive airplay across the country. Its captivating music video, released in September, crossed a million views on YouTube in just 11 days—a testament to the song’s wide-reaching appeal.
The collaboration marked the first musical union between the two stars, blending themes of love and enchantment with a contagious rhythm that got fans hooked. It wasn’t just a hit—it was a cultural moment, bringing together different fan bases and showcasing the magic that can happen when two top-tier artists combine their strengths.
Reacting to the win, KiDi expressed heartfelt appreciation to fans and his collaborator, saying, “This is why we make music—for people to be happy, to catch a vibe. Shout out to my brother Black Sherif; we’ve made a national and global hit, and I’m truly grateful.”
The award for Best Collaboration of the Year not only cements “Lomo Lomo” as a standout track from 2024 but also highlights the power of unity and creativity in Ghana’s ever-evolving music industry.
