President John Dramani Mahama has nominated 40 individuals to serve as District Chief Executives (DCEs) in various districts across the country. The announcement was made via an official statement issued on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
The nominations were made in accordance with Article 243 of the 1992 Constitution and the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), as amended by the 2017 Local Governance (Amendment) Act (Act 940), which grants the President the authority to appoint DCEs with the endorsement of their respective District Assemblies.
Per the statement, the President has forwarded the list of nominees to the relevant assemblies for their review and confirmation.
