A supporter of Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong is currently receiving medical treatment after being stabbed during the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) ongoing “Thank You” tour. The incident, which has stirred concerns over political violence, occurred amid celebrations and outreach efforts involving party members and sympathizers.
According to reports, the supporter was attacked by unidentified individuals during one of the tour stops. The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he is currently undergoing treatment.
Following the incident, a team led by Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong swiftly filed an official complaint with the police. The team is calling for a thorough investigation and the immediate arrest of the perpetrators to ensure justice is served.
“This is not just an attack on one individual, but on the spirit of political tolerance and peace we strive to uphold,” a spokesperson for Hon. Ken stated after filing the report. “We expect the police to treat this with the urgency and seriousness it deserves.”
The motive behind the stabbing is yet to be confirmed, but party insiders suspect it may have been politically motivated given the heated atmosphere surrounding internal party activities and upcoming elections.
The Ghana Police Service has acknowledged receipt of the report and assured the public that investigations are underway to bring those responsible to book.
This unfortunate event casts a shadow over the NPP’s thank you tour, which was intended to celebrate party unity and reconnect with grassroots supporters.
