The President of the Republic of Ghana, in accordance with Article 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20(1) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936 as amended), has nominated 33 individuals for appointment as District Chief Executives (DCEs) in the Eastern Region. This nomination is pending approval by their respective District Assemblies.
The announcement was made via an official release from the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, signed by the sector Minister, Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim (MP), and communicated to all press houses for immediate attention and action.
The Office of the President, in a detailed list signed by Secretary to the President Callistus Mahama, Ph.D., outlined the nominated candidates for each district. The nominees represent a diverse mix of professionals, with several women nominated for key districts, signaling the administration’s commitment to inclusive governance.
