The Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has officially launched the No-Fee-Stress application portal aimed at easing financial constraints for Level 100 students in Ghana’s public tertiary institutions.
The initiative, under the umbrella of the No-Fee-Stress policy, allows newly admitted students to register for financial assistance through the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF). The policy is a key government intervention designed to remove financial barriers that often prevent qualified students from pursuing tertiary education.
Described as a bold and forward-looking policy, No-Fee-Stress represents a strategic investment in Ghana’s human capital and long-term development. Speaking at the launch, Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu emphasized the government’s commitment to expanding equitable access to higher education.
Dr. Saajida Shiraz, CEO of the SLTF, assured the public of the Fund’s readiness to facilitate the smooth roll-out of the program. She noted that the portal provides a user-friendly platform for students to register, enabling quick verification and processing of applications for support.
The portal is now live and can be accessed at www.nofeesstress.sltf.gov.gh and www.sltf.gov.gh.
Students requiring assistance with the registration process can reach the SLTF through their helpline at 0302751020 or by visiting any of its zonal offices nationwide.
This move marks a major step toward making tertiary education more inclusive and accessible to Ghanaian youth.
