Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former Vice President and the NPP’s Presidential Candidate for the 2024 elections, has expressed his disappointment over how the opposition NDC capitalized on internal criticisms during the campaign.
Addressing party stakeholders at the launch of his national Thank You Tour in Takoradi on Saturday, Dr. Bawumia noted that internal divisions and damaging remarks from some key party figures significantly contributed to the NPP’s electoral loss.
“Unity is crucial for any group effort, but during the 2024 elections, internal conflicts posed a major challenge,” he said.
He explained that public attacks by some party members against the NPP and the government were seized upon by the NDC, who repeatedly used those criticisms in media advertisements to their advantage.
“When the negative comments are coming from your own members, the impact is even greater,” he stressed.
Dr. Bawumia emphasized the need for unity within the party, warning that if such internal disputes persist, they will continue to undermine the NPP’s progress.
