Parliament Committed to Supporting Growth and Job Creation – Ayariga Assures Mahama

Majority Leader in Parliament, Mahama Ayariga, has pledged the full support of Parliament towards President John Dramani Mahama’s vision for economic growth and inclusive job creation.

Speaking at the Kwahu Business Forum on Saturday, April 19, Ayariga highlighted Parliament’s willingness to collaborate with sector ministers and private enterprises to address pressing challenges and implement effective solutions.

He emphasized the pivotal role of the private sector in Ghana’s development, describing it as the “engine of growth,” with business leaders acting as its drivers and innovators.

“These business leaders are the job creators and innovators we must support and sustain. This platform is a clear indication of Your Excellency’s dedication to that goal,” he noted.

Ayariga reaffirmed Parliament’s readiness to partner with the executive arm of government in delivering on development pledges.

“Parliament—the people’s Parliament—stands fully prepared to back your agenda for economic growth and equitable job creation,” he assured.

He also announced that parliamentary committees will actively engage with ministries and enterprises to design targeted interventions and ensure accountability.

“Our committees will collaborate with sector ministers and the enterprises within their jurisdictions to identify issues, recommend solutions, and ensure implementation. We will monitor these ministers closely to ensure they fulfill the commitments made to the Ghanaian people,” he added.

Concluding his remarks, Ayariga stressed that Parliament will play an oversight role in supporting enterprise incubation and nationwide business development.

“Parliament will ensure that efforts to incubate and grow enterprises across the country are fully realized,” he stated.
