Paul Adom-Otchere, former Board Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited, has claimed that musician-turned-politician Kwame Asare-Obeng, widely known as A Plus and currently the Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, issued a stern warning to the National Investigations Bureau (NIB) during a recent inquiry.
Adom-Otchere stated that based on information he received, A Plus was summoned by the NIB to respond to a number of issues—chief among them, remarks he made related to an alleged bribery scandal involving the National Service Secretariat (NSS).
He alleged that during the questioning, A Plus warned investigators that he could expose certain individuals whose identities could cause major political turmoil, possibly leading to the collapse of a political party.
Referencing a notice from Parliament, Adom-Otchere explained that Speaker Alban Bagbin had authorized the release of A Plus and another MP for NIB interrogation. He noted that during the session, A Plus was asked about the NSS scandal, which had become a hot topic following claims that a sitting MP was bribed to suppress the matter. Rumors strongly suggest A Plus himself might be the MP involved.
He went on to allege that A Plus brought up the name of Attorney General Dominic Ayine during the questioning—an action that reportedly rattled the NIB officials and disrupted their line of investigation.
According to Adom-Otchere, A Plus appeared before the Bureau with a confrontational attitude and warned that the answers he might give could implicate powerful figures and destabilize the political landscape.
“The account is that A Plus showed up very boldly and when asked about the NSS issue, he reportedly said if they weren’t careful, the names he’d mention could bring down the country or a political party,” Adom-Otchere recounted.
He emphasized that among the names mentioned by A Plus was that of Dominic Ayine, the Attorney General, which, according to him, is confirmed.
