GRA Leadership Engages Coca-Cola Ghana on Partnership to Combat Product Smuggling

The Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Mr. Anthony Kwasi Sarpong, has hosted the Managing Director of Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana, Mr. Felix Gomis, in a courtesy meeting aimed at fostering collaboration to combat the smuggling of Coca-Cola products into Ghana.

Joining the Commissioner-General at the meeting were GRA’s Customs Commissioner, Brigadier General Glover Ashong Annan, and the Commissioner of the Support Services Division (SSD), Hon. Dr. Alex Adomako-Mensah.

Held in a cordial atmosphere, the meeting focused on developing strategies and strengthening public-private partnerships to curb the illicit trade of Coca-Cola products, which not only undermines the company’s operations but also affects national revenue mobilization efforts.

Mr. Sarpong expressed appreciation for Coca-Cola’s continued investment in Ghana and welcomed the company’s willingness to work with state institutions to address pressing trade challenges. He reiterated GRA’s commitment to ensuring a fair and compliant trading environment for all businesses.

Mr. Gomis, on his part, emphasized Coca-Cola’s desire to protect the integrity of its supply chain and support Ghana’s economic development through responsible business practices.

Both parties expressed optimism that the collaboration would yield significant results in addressing product smuggling and enhancing revenue protection.
