No Single Person Can Unite the NPP, We Must Work Together — Oppong Nkrumah

Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Member of Parliament for Ofoase-Ayirebi, has called for unity within the New Patriotic Party (NPP), stressing that the party’s recent electoral defeat in 2024 should serve as a wake-up call for collective action and introspection.

Speaking in the aftermath of the party’s significant loss at the polls, Oppong Nkrumah emphasized that healing and rebuilding the NPP will require the effort and commitment of every member, not just its leaders.

“No single person can bring the NPP together,” he said. “We all have to work together — from the grassroots to the top — if we want to rebuild, refocus, and return stronger.”

His comments come amid growing dissatisfaction among some party members over how internal issues were handled leading up to the elections. Several supporters and former executives have expressed concerns about neglect, lack of inclusiveness, and internal divisions that, they say, contributed to the party’s poor performance.

Oppong Nkrumah acknowledged these sentiments, noting that the treatment of party members and the breakdown of internal unity were factors that cannot be ignored.

“The way we treat our own has consequences. If we are serious about renewal, we must learn to value every member and listen to concerns without arrogance,” he added.

He urged party leadership to open space for genuine dialogue and reconciliation, stressing that now is the time to rebuild trust, restore morale, and renew the NPP’s core values.

His call has resonated with many within the party who believe that inclusive leadership and unity are key to the NPP’s recovery and future relevance.

As the dust settles from the 2024 election, Oppong Nkrumah’s message is being seen as a timely reminder that the party’s strength lies not in personalities, but in unity and purpose.
