Koku Anyidoho takes legal action against Captain Smart, seeks GH¢5 million in Damages

Samuel Koku Anyidoho, the CEO and Founder of the MILLS Institute, has initiated a defamation lawsuit against popular broadcaster Captain Smart and Media General.

Anyidoho, who previously served as the Director of Communications at the Presidency, claims that Captain Smart made damaging statements about him during a February 2025 TV show, with the comments later circulating on Ghanaweb.

In his legal filing before the High Court, Anyidoho argues that the defamatory remarks have caused significant harm to his reputation, both in his professional life and within the religious community where he is held in high regard.

He asserts that the comments have also negatively affected his mental well-being.

As a result, Anyidoho is seeking GH¢5 million in damages, including both punitive and compensatory compensation, a public apology, and the removal of the offending content.
