GFZA CEO Hosts GNCCI Delegation to Strengthen Collaboration and Boost Agribusiness

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA), Dr. Mary Awusi, welcomed a delegation from the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) on Thursday, March 19, 2025, at the Authority’s Head Office in Accra. The meeting aimed to deepen the partnership between both organizations and explore new avenues for collaboration.

Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in key sectors such as agribusiness and industrialization. The GNCCI representatives emphasized the need to support businesses along the value chain to meet international standards, ensuring their products remain competitive in the global export market. They also proposed a “GFZA-GNCCI Internship Project” for members of their Junior Chambers in selected tertiary institutions across Ghana, fostering hands-on experience and industry exposure for young professionals.

In her opening remarks, Dr. Awusi reaffirmed the strong working relationship between the GFZA and GNCCI, acknowledging the vital role the Chamber’s members play in Ghana’s agribusiness and industrial landscape. She underscored the importance of adhering to international standards for businesses to remain competitive. Expressing enthusiasm about the proposed internship project, she committed to working towards its realization.

The GNCCI delegation included CEO Mark Badu-Aboagye, 1st Vice President Dr. Mrs. Emelia Assiakwa, 2nd Vice President Mr. Alexander Bogney Bewong, National Treasurer Mr. Michael Kabutey Caesar, Manager of Business Development Mr. Peter Wilson-Sey, and Head of Communications Mr. Peter Atsu Dotse.

Supporting Dr. Awusi from the GFZA were Deputy CEO (Finance and Administration) Mr. Musah Sibri Amidu, Deputy CEO (Operations) Mr. Lateef Apau Wiredu, Director of Marketing and Investment Promotion Ms. Anita Quashie, Director of Corporate Affairs and Public Relations Mrs. Patience Agbleze Acorlor, and Marketing and Investment Promotion Officer Mr. Caesar Abbam.

The meeting reinforced the commitment of both organizations to fostering industrial growth, job creation, and positioning Ghanaian businesses for success in the global market.
