Social media, especially Facebook, has been awashed with calls from netizens on why the current longest serving regional secretary of the NDC has not been recognized in the Mahama led administration.
According to them, Mr. Dennis Yeboah Twumasi, the Bono Regional Secretary, sacrificed his employment opportunity at Ghana Port and Harbour Authority after his national service with them for the position of the Deputy Regional Secretary for the Brong Ahafo Region when the NDC was in opposition in 2008; a position he held from 2008 to 2014 and subsequently rose to become the Regional Secretary from 2014 up to date.
These netizens express worry over what they describe as a ”seeming neglect of him” by the Mahama administration.
@Amansan Katakyie, who initiated this request on his Facebook wall on Sunday, March 16, 2024 appealed to President Mahama to consider giving recognition to the Bono Regional Secretary. To him, appointing the Bono Regional Secretary will not only be a reward of hardwork and long service but a motivation to the teeming youth who have been inspired and nurtured by the Regional Secretary to work their hearts out and commit to party activities. It will, again consolidate the gains the NDC made in the 2024 general elections in the Bono Region.
Subsequently, several Facebook influencers have also added their voices to the call and have urged President Mahama to intervene in order not to degenerate the silence agitation of the youth regarding the seeming neglect.

You have diligently served the Great NDC from 2008 as Deputy Regional Secretary and subsequently assumed the Regional Secretary position since 2014, a dedicated service for almost 16 good years of hardwork and total commitment to the success of the NDC in the Brong Ahafo, now Bono Region; grooming and giving opportunities to several young comrades who now serve in various positions within the umbrella family.
If indeed, there is any reward in hardwork, then the Bono Regional Secretary should not be overlooked as the longest serving Regional Secretary of the Great NDC.

I remember him as that “committed NDC guy” even before his name, I equally agree with the countless voices who are disappointed because we are yet to congratulate him.
For the past 16 years(in power, in opposition, and now in power again), Dennis has lived his whole life for the umbrella family in the Bono region and the country at large.
We are not calling on the president to appoint someone who can’t work, we are calling on the president to consider such a vibrant talent, so he can contribute to the reset agenda.
Hardwork and preparedness are together with Dennis.
His appointment will not just be a reward, but an encouraging message that will echo in the minds of young umbrella guys.

John Dramani Mahama ,this is Dennis Yeboah Twumasi, a fresh graduate from UG who decided to serve the Great NDC in opposition as Deputy Regional Secretary for the Brong Ahafo Region over employment opportunity at GPHA after his National Service with GPHA in 2008.
