During the 68th Independence Day Celebration parade at Kasoa, the Member of Parliament for the Awutu Senya East Constituency, Hon. Philis Naa Koryor Okunnor, affirmed her commitment to ensuring the constituency is not left out of President John Dramani Mahama’s resetting development agenda.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Okunnor emphasized that just as President Mahama remains dedicated to enhancing the Free Senior High School policy and advancing education, she too is poised to lobby for meaningful development in Awutu Senya East.
In light of the recent cholera outbreak in the Central Region, the MP also took the opportunity to encourage the public to adopt a renewed mindset towards environmental cleanliness to curb the spread of diseases.
Speaking on education, the Municipal Director of Education for Awutu Senya East, Mrs. Faustina Braimah, highlighted the importance of a collaborative approach in strengthening the education sector. She noted that the government alone cannot achieve this goal and called on parents, teachers, corporate bodies, and community leaders to play their roles effectively.
Mrs. Braimah further appealed to traditional leaders to support education by advocating for the release of lands for educational infrastructure, emphasizing the collective responsibility needed to create a brighter future for the youth.
The event, marked by cultural displays and patriotic fervor, reinforced the promise of development and progress for the people of Kasoa and the Awutu Senya East Constituency.
