Sammi Awuku Vows to Deliver on All Campaign Promises to Akuapem North Constituents

Member of Parliament for Akuapem North, Sammi Awuku, has reiterated his commitment to fulfilling all campaign promises despite the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) loss in the 2024 elections.

As part of his community support efforts, Awuku has introduced a monthly trade initiative, offering free transportation to help farmers transport their produce from villages to the Ofie Market Square at Amanokrom Durbar grounds.

In addition, he has collaborated with rural banks to provide soft loans to farmers and market women to expand their businesses. Speaking to the media after launching the initiative, Awuku announced his decision to personally cover 25 percent of the 30 percent interest on these loans to ease the financial burden on beneficiaries.

Looking ahead, he revealed plans to establish a Teacher’s and Nurse’s Fund by mid-year, following successful discussions with the Education and Health Directorates. The fund will serve as seed capital to support teachers and healthcare workers, encouraging them to accept postings in remote areas within the constituency and enhancing access to education and healthcare services.

During the launch of the Ofie Market at Amanokrom, Awuku assured constituents that he would not misuse his MP’s common fund but would ensure it is utilized effectively to uplift the community.

“I promised that by mid-year, we will establish this fund so that teachers and health professionals can access financial support. As an MP, I have made a firm commitment not to take a single cedi from what is meant for the constituency. My goal is to help lift them from poverty into prosperity,” he stated.
