Activist and Democracy Hub organizer Oliver Barker-Vormawor has firmly denied allegations linking him to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
His response follows claims made by Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin during an Appointments Committee session, where Afenyo-Markin described him as a “notorious member of the NDC.”
Appearing before the Committee on January 29 over allegations of bribery involving NDC members in Parliament during the vetting of ministerial nominees, Barker-Vormawor clarified his political stance.
His remarks reaffirm his political independence amid ongoing debates on governance, transparency, and accountability in Ghana.
“Unfortunately, I must address the claims that it is a notorious fact he’s a member of the NDC. With the victory of the NDC, now everybody says they are NDC members. But this is completely untrue. I have not been a member of the NDC in the past.
“And it is my hope that my ideology which has always been stated, I have always voted constantly for the CPP and I will continue to do so.”
Barker-Vormawor apologized for his earlier Facebook post but firmly denied accusations of suggesting that NDC committee members accepted bribes from ministerial nominees.
