The Northern Region Minister-Designate, Ali Adolf G. John, has vowed to address the persistent issue of alleged witches facing abuse and ostracism in some communities.
Speaking during his vetting on Thursday, January 23, Adolf expressed deep concern over the plight of accused individuals, particularly elderly women, who often endure public humiliation, banishment, and physical harm.
He pledged to collaborate closely with traditional rulers to protect accused individuals and facilitate their reintegration into society.
Adolf described some reported cases as horrific and underscored the importance of collective action to ensure dignity and safety for all.
“Most of the aged are often accused of witchcraft and some of the footage is horrific so I will do everything possible with the traditional leaders to handle this issue.
“We need the intervention of the traditional rulers to help us help these people to reintegrate them back into society.”
