Haruna Iddrisu, the former Minority Leader in Parliament, has stated that he holds no resentment over his replacement in the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Caucus.
Reflecting on his tenure and the leadership changes, Haruna Iddrisu expressed pride in his contributions and emphasized that his decisions were guided by the collective will of the party.
Describing his time as Minority Leader as a “rare opportunity to serve,” he reaffirmed his commitment to the ideals of the NDC and the nation.
“There were some decisions that you’re guided collectively by the party, and then we take a decision. But as I said, I never, never changed being changed as a Minority Leader. I don’t carry guilt in my heart; I had my opportunity.
“I went out there to campaign for the NDC because I was convinced that, in terms of the management of the economy, I wasn’t satisfied with how the NPP managed the country. I don’t carry guilt in my heart. I had the rare opportunity to serve,” Haruna stated.
The leadership of the NDC, under the chairmanship of Johnson Asiedu Nketia, recently replaced Haruna Iddrisu with Cassiel Ato Forson, the Member of Parliament for Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam and former Ranking Member of the Finance Committee, as the new Minority Leader.
Armah Kofi Buah, MP for Ellembelle, succeeded James Klutse Avedzi, MP for Ketu North, as Deputy Minority Leader, while Kwame Agbodza, MP for Adaklu, replaced Muntaka Mubarak, MP for Asawase, as Minority Chief Whip.
Meanwhile, Ahmed Ibrahim and Comfort Doyo-Ghansah retained their positions as First and Second Deputy Whips, respectively.
