President Mahama Strengthens National Security with Key Appointments

President John Dramani Mahama has announced pivotal appointments in national security, signaling his administration’s commitment to safeguarding the nation and bolstering security operations.

Among the notable appointments is former Chief of Staff and Interior Minister, Prosper Douglas Bani, who now serves as the National Security Advisor to the President. Known for his extensive experience in governance and security management, Mr. Bani’s role will involve providing strategic counsel to the President on critical national security matters.

The position of National Security Coordinator will be held by DCOP Abdul-Osman Razak, whose expertise ensures seamless coordination across the nation’s security apparatus.

Meanwhile, retired Commissioner of Police Nathan Kofi Boakye has been entrusted with the role of Director of Operations at the Presidency. He is tasked with overseeing the operational effectiveness of security initiatives under the President’s purview.

Adding to these strategic changes, Charles Kipo has been appointed as the Director General of the National Intelligence Bureau. His leadership is expected to enhance intelligence gathering and ensure proactive responses to potential security threats.

These appointments underscore President Mahama’s dedication to enhancing national security frameworks and ensuring the safety and well-being of all citizens.

The announcement was made by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Acting Spokesperson to the President, during a press briefing.
