President-Elect John Dramani Mahama Announces Key Appointments to Office of the President

The President-elect of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, has announced a series of strategic appointments to the Office of the President, set to take effect from Tuesday, January 7, 2025. These appointments reflect a blend of experienced professionals and trusted advisors poised to support the incoming administration’s governance agenda.

In a statement signed by Special Aide Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the following individuals were named to key positions:

  1. Julius Debrah – Chief of Staff: Known for his exceptional leadership skills and deep understanding of Ghana’s political landscape, Mr. Debrah will oversee the day-to-day operations of the President’s office.
  2. Dr. Callistus Mahama – Executive Secretary to the President: Dr. Mahama will serve as the President’s principal aide, managing executive coordination and policy implementation.
  3. Prosper Douglas Bani – Head of Interim Security Taskforce: Mr. Bani, a security expert, will lead efforts to ensure peace and stability during the transition and beyond.
  4. Dr. Valerie Sawyerr – Senior Presidential Advisor, Governmental Affairs: Dr. Sawyerr brings a wealth of experience in governance and public administration to this critical advisory role.
  5. Augustus Goosie Tannoh – Presidential Advisor Responsible for 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development: Mr. Tannoh will spearhead initiatives aimed at driving economic growth, with a focus on boosting exports and enhancing Ghana’s competitiveness.
  6. Marietta Agyeiwaa Brew – Legal Counsel to the President: Ms. Brew, an accomplished legal practitioner, will provide legal guidance and ensure compliance with constitutional mandates.
  7. Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu – Acting Spokesperson to the President: With a strong background in communications, Hon. Kwakye Ofosu will articulate and communicate the President’s policies and decisions to the public.
