Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has been honoured with the prestigious Order of the Star of Ghana – Officer Award at the 2024 Ghana National Honours and Awards ceremony.
The award, presented by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, recognises Dr. Bawumia’s exceptional service, dedication, and contributions to national development.
Held at the Accra International Conference Centre, the ceremony celebrated outstanding Ghanaians and institutions across various sectors for their unwavering commitment to advancing the nation’s progress.
Dr. Bawumia, widely lauded for his leadership and economic expertise, was acknowledged as a key figure in shaping Ghana’s economic policies and spearheading digital transformation initiatives.
His recognition underscores the significant role he has played in governance and public service over the years.
The Order of the Star of Ghana is the highest national honour, with the Officer rank representing exceptional service in both the public and private sectors.
In addition to Dr. Bawumia, key ministers from the Akufo-Addo administration were also honoured for their dedicated service to the nation and their respective ministries.
Awardees included Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Minister for Communications and Digitisation; Francis Asenso-Boakye, Minister for Roads and Highways; Chief of Staff Frema Opare, among others.
