The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has instructed that the reconvening of Parliament, scheduled for Monday, December 16, 2024, take place at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
This move comes after a circular was issued by the Speaker’s Office on December 11, officially confirming the location for the highly anticipated parliamentary session.
The directive follows a previous notice from Speaker Bagbin, dated December 2, 2024, which called for the reconvening of Parliament to resume its functions.
This date and venue selection come amidst ongoing political discussions and preparations for the post-election period.
The call for the reconvening of Parliament on December 16, 2024, has been a point of considerable discussion and debate in Ghanaian political circles, especially due to the timing and the circumstances surrounding its announcement.Tourism packages
Speaker Bagbin had previously faced repeated requests from the Majority in Parliament to recall the House ahead of the December 7 general elections.
These requests were made in light of the electoral processes and the need for legislative interventions in the lead-up to the elections. However, Speaker Bagbin rejected these calls and instead chose to maintain the original date for reconvening.
