Her statement came during the official declaration of the presidential results at the National Collation Centre in Accra.

“As a commission, we have fulfilled our aspiration to ensure transparency, accountability, exclusiveness and responsiveness at the heart of all our operations and I can confidently say that, with the help of God, we have fulfilled the aspirations and the expectations of the citizenry.

“We have conducted elections that are credible, free fair, transparent and peaceful. Elections that have ensured that the will of the people are expressed at the polls”.

She further emphasized the importance of voter participation, noting that the election process reflected the true will of the people.

“These elections have ensured that every vote counts. As a country, we take pride in the fact that our electoral processes initiated since 1992 uphold and guarantee the voter’s choice. We take pride in the fact that the voter’s choice as expressed at the polls is sacrosanct”.

Jean Madam Mensa also highlighted the commitment of the Electoral Commission to a smooth and orderly election process despite challenges leading up to the polls.
