The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Director of Elections, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has expressed dissatisfaction over recurring errors in ballot paper printing for the Volta Region by Ghana’s Electoral Commission (EC).
He described the situation as unacceptable, stating:
“After reviewing the letter titled ‘SHORTFALL ON BALLOT PAPERS’ from the EC, we engaged our #EAGLEEYES team, which monitored the printing process at Act Commercial. Their report highlights yet another avoidable error by the Electoral Commission.”
Dr. Boamah noted that the ballot statistics provided to the printing house were accurate, urging the EC to thoroughly investigate and address the issue transparently.
He added, “It is concerning that the Volta Region, a stronghold of our party, is repeatedly subjected to such avoidable errors. The EC owes Ghanaians an explanation for this shortfall.”
Committed to addressing the matter, Dr. Boamah announced his intention to raise the issue at an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting scheduled for November 29.
Earlier, on November 28, the Electoral Commission acknowledged discrepancies in ballot papers for constituencies including Keta, Ketu North, Ho Central, Hohoe, and Ho West. The EC assured that the shortfalls would be rectified at the printing facility.
