Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Manifesto Committee, has urged Ghanaians to approach the promises of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, with caution.
The former Sports Minister expressed doubts about the feasibility of Bawumia’s key economic proposals, including a flat tax rate, the removal of the e-levy, safeguarding public finances, and expanding road infrastructure.
In an interview on Channel One TV’s Face to Face with Umaru Sanda Amadu, Ankrah criticized Bawumia for what he described as a pattern of unfulfilled promises, warning that trusting his new commitments could pose risks for the electorate.
“You believe Bawumia at your own risk and I want Ghanaians to know and recognize that it will be very dangerous for them to believe Dr Mahamudu Bawumia. Because this is somebody who has consistently made promises and has not been able to fulfil them. Together with Nana Addo [President], gave a litany of promises.”
He urged the voters to dismiss Bawumia, asserting that he would fail to fulfilb his commitments
