John Mahama accuses NPP of development allocation bias

Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has criticised the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) for allegedly prioritising developments in regions based on their electoral support.

He argues that this approach neglects areas that did not favour the NPP in elections, suggesting it undermines equitable development across the country.

Mahama made these remarks during his tour of the Oti Region, on Monday, November 4.

Addressing these concerns, John Mahama condemned what he described as regional disparities in resource allocation, pledging to prioritize development in the Oti Region if elected president again.

At Biakoye, he indicated that President Akufo-Addo has come to terms with what he says is the likelihood of his party losing the upcoming election.

“NPP failed to build the regional hospitals because Krachi East indigenes didn’t vote for them. NDC will uphold its promise to Krachi East in terms of infrastructure.”

The NDC Presidential Candidate on Monday began his two-day tour of the Oti Region.

He made a stop at Dambai in Krachi East, where he was warmly welcomed by chiefs and party supporters.

The Chief of Dambai, Nana Mprah Besemuna III highlighted the lack of development in the region and appealed to John Mahama to prioritize development projects if elected in the December polls.

“We are very grateful for the educational infrastructure you developed, which has helped us all these years. We also know you built smaller hospitals in Krachi but the people are making for a regional hospital. We want you to prioritise the regional hospital when voted into power.”
