The 8th edition of the CEO/Executive Ping-Pong Tournament was held on September 29, 2024, at the Tang Palace Hotel in Accra, bringing together top executives for a day of fitness, networking, and relaxation. Organized by Safety Communication Consult in collaboration with the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Foundation, Germany, and supported by key sponsors including the Volta River Authority (VRA) and Tang Palace Hotel, the event celebrated wellness and camaraderie among business leaders.
The tournament featured a blend of sportsmanship and social interaction, with dignitaries such as Dr. Yennusom Maalug, Vice President of the Psychiatric Association of Ghana, actively participating. The highlight of the competition saw Laud Aristotle Aidoo, a French teacher and executive, claim the championship title after defeating Dr. Theodore Boafo, a medical practitioner, in a 3-1 match. Aidoo expressed his excitement in an interview with *Kasapa Sports*, praising the event for fostering fitness, networking, and fun: “It’s a great idea to have executives come together for such tournaments. It provides a platform to exercise, network, and also have fun. I truly enjoyed the experience.”
Eric Apedo, Chief Operations Officer of Safety Communication Consult, reflected on the success of the event, particularly the participation of new players. “We are delighted to have had a new champion this year and to see such a great turnout. It was a beautiful and successful event, thanks to God’s grace and the enthusiasm of all participants,” Apedo said, while encouraging more sponsors and partners to support future editions, especially in light of the growing focus on mental health in corporate Ghana.
Dr. Maalug, who secured third place in the competition, applauded the event’s organization and emphasized the mental health benefits of table tennis. “It was a well-organized competition, mentally stimulating, and a lot of fun. Events like these highlight the positive effects of sports on mental health, and I believe this should be encouraged.”
With each passing year, the CEO/Executive Ping-Pong Tournament continues to grow, serving as a platform for executives to stay fit, network, and compete in a friendly environment.
