Renowned Ghanaian actor Clement Bonney, also known as Mr. Beautiful, has criticised President Akufo-Addo’s government for failing to address poor roads in the country.
In an interview with Johnnie Hughes on TV3, September 19, the actor likened Akufo-Addo’s administration to the famous Accra Spintex Road.
According to Mr. Beautiful, Ghanaians cannot plan their lives under Akufo-Addo’s government due to its inconsistency.
“I do not have a good road; go to the Sakumono traffic light. Nana Akufo-Addo’s government is like Spintex Road. You can never plan your life with it. The day you try to use the main Spintex Road, it’s piled up with traffic,” he stated.
“But when you assume there’s traffic and take a different route, that’s when the road will be clear. There is inconsistency. You can’t plan your life with Akufo-Addo’s government,” he added.
He also recalled how some seasoned journalists used to report on potholes in various areas and called out MPs responsible for not fixing them. He questioned whether today’s journalists still engage in such practices.
“Go to Spintex Road, and you’ll see what potholes really are. Back in the day, renowned journalists would count the number of potholes on Spintex and address the situation in the media. Are they still doing that? These are the people who have led us to where we are now,” he said.
Mr Beautiful is amongst the many creatives who have aligned with the NDC and believes John Mahama is the right man to steer the affairs of the country.
