The NDC parliamentary candidate for Ketu North, Eric Edem Agbana has promised to deliver 95% of votes in the constituency for himself and the party’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama in the December general elections.
Mr. Agbana who launched his campaign officially in Dzodze on Sunday, intimated that his candidature has revived the party’s base in the constituency with thousands of youth banking their hopes and aspirations on the outcome of the elections in December.
“The NDC is the only political party that gives meaningful opportunities for young people to thrive. The NDC is the only political party that nurtures and supports them to thrive and achieve whatever they hope for themselves.”
“I see my candidature as a renewal of hope for the young people of Ketu North, I see my candidature as a message to the Ketu North constituents, as a message to the entire country that indeed, the NDC recognizes the power of the youth.”
He believes the NDC is well positioned to win the elections and to turn the country’s economy around to the benefit of the Ghanaian people, particularly young people who have been without jobs.
He added that, “I am not saying I’m the Jesus Christ or the savior, I’m only a messenger, a humble servant that has availed himself, to the service of humanity, to the service of this constituency.”
“I am very passionate about my constituency and I’m willing to put in the hard work to ensure that we produce the results the young people of this constituency are looking for,” he added.
He believes the New Patriotic Party in the Ketu North constituency would not be able to get 10% percent of votes to come December 7.
“Our working target was about 85% but at the last survey, there’s every indication that we can secure 90-95% of the total votes in this constituency for the NDC. This is largely due to the work we have done since I became the Parliamentary candidate. In the manifesto document we just launched I have outlined a number of projects and initiatives we have undertaken even before I became the MP and I have also outlined my personal vision and the plans that President Mahama has for the people of Ketu North come 2025.”
Outgoing Member of Parliament for the constituency, James Klutsey Avedzi pledged his support for Mr. Edem Agbana and remarked that he is a competent hand and best-fit individual to replace him having been in parliament since 2005.
The campaign launch on Sunday drew participation from across the region, including other stalwarts of the party such as Tamale South MP, Haruna Iddrisu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa and Abla Dzifa Gomashie, MPs for North Tongu and Ketu South.
Others included John Dumelo, Shamima Muslim, and Obuobia Darko-Opoku amongst other top officials of the party.
