IMANI Africa President, Franklin Cudjoe, has praised the manifesto of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), describing it as “clear, relatable, humane, and universal.”
Launched on Saturday, August 24, the manifesto lays out the NDC’s vision for Ghana, including significant promises like abolishing certain taxes, investigating the killings during the 2020 elections, and preventing political appointees from acquiring state properties.
In a Facebook post, Mr. Cudjoe commended the NDC’s commitment to gender representation, with a pledge to allocate 30% of public office appointments to qualified women.
He also expressed support for the party’s plan to combat period poverty, noting that it could enhance young girls’ confidence and access to education.
Mr. Cudjoe further praised the NDC’s proposed fiscal consolidation plan and the idea of holding an economic summit, calling it “very sensible.”
Nevertheless, he mentioned that his team intends to conduct a more detailed analysis to quantify the potential benefits of the proposed 24-hour economy.
In his concluding remarks, Mr. Cudjoe underscored the importance of good governance, urging a shift from the concentration of power and resources for personal gain towards prioritizing the needs of the people.
