Starlink is set to begin its operations in Ghana by the end of August 2024, following approval from the National Communications Authority (NCA). This development marks a significant milestone in Ghana’s digital transformation efforts.
In a statement released on Thursday, August 22, the NCA announced that Starlink will operate under the name Space X Starlink GH LTD in Ghana.
Starlink’s service will offer high-speed internet using its constellation of low-Earth orbit satellites. Although the service may come at a premium, with equipment costs ranging from $600 to $2,500 and monthly fees between $120 and $5,000, its impact on Ghana’s internet landscape is expected to be substantial.
This advanced technology promises faster internet speeds, positioning Starlink as a key player in the global internet market.
